Broken Pieces

Have you ever had a cherished possession—something special to you—that was accidentally broken? Maybe it slipped from your hands and shattered into pieces. In that moment, there's shock, maybe even a bit of heartbreak. You kneel down, gathering the fragments, wondering if there's any hope of putting it back together.

Or maybe your child brings you their favorite toy, eyes filled with tears, holding the broken pieces in their small hands. And because it matters so much to them, it matters to you. So you sit down, patient and careful, doing your best to restore what’s been lost.

Sometimes, when we look at what’s broken, we’re tempted to give up. The damage seems too great. It would be easier to throw it away and move on. But when something is deeply loved, you realize it’s worth the time and effort to repair. And when restoration is possible—when a toy is fixed or a treasured item made whole again—there’s joy. Joy in the act of saving. Joy in seeing something loved brought back to life.

Now, imagine how God must feel when He sees His children broken.

The ones made in His image.
The ones who call Him Father.
The ones He sent His Son to die for—so we could be made whole again.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18

There are times in life when we feel too far gone—too shattered by pain, disappointment, or the weight of our own choices. We hold tightly to the broken pieces, desperately trying to fix them ourselves. But some things are simply beyond our ability to mend and only God can restore.

Yet even in our most broken state, God never sees us as beyond repair.

He waits for us to come—arms full of shattered pieces—and with gentle love, He begins the work of restoration. He works patiently, tenderly, and with great purpose.

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” – Psalm 147:3

No matter how broken you may feel, you are not beyond hope.
You are not forgotten.
You are not too far gone.

You are deeply loved by a God who restores—and you are worth every moment it takes to make you whole again.

So bring your broken pieces to him.
