He Is Above All Things

There are times in life when it feels like everything is unraveling. Nothing seems to go right, and my soul grows weary under the weight of it all.

In those moments, I often find myself reevaluating how I got there.
Was it something I brought on myself?
Did I overcommit, stretch myself too thin, or underestimate the time and resources I had?

More often than not, the answer is yes.

Because somewhere along the way, I got distracted and I let my to-do list take priority over time with the Lord. I let the demands of life edge out prayer and time in His Word.

And when I neglect that daily connection with God, it shows.
I begin to feel disconnected from His presence.
Discouraged by my circumstances.
Overwhelmed by even the simplest tasks.
And falling short every time - trying to navigate everything on my own.

One of my favorite scriptures for moments like this is:

“And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” – Colossians 1:17

This verse reminds me where my priorities belong.
It centers my heart.
It repositions my soul.

When I put God first—when I return to His Word, to prayer, and to quiet moments with Him—things begin to shift. Not always outwardly, but inwardly. My heart becomes settled and my mind is at rest.

And I remember: He holds it all together—even me.

If you find yourself weary today, take a moment to reflect: Am I prioritizing time with God, or am I putting the world before Him and his Word? Remember, HE is before all things, and in Him, all things are held together.
